The fat lady sings

Well the day has arrived and the nation’s fate now lies in the penciled hands of the trusted British voter.

The nation seems very divided by the campaign, rather like during the Scottish referendum. That division has been created by a distinct lack of verifiable facts, the fog of war in fact.

The facts in many cases have been weapons to cause collateral damage to the other side rather than spelling out what ‘may’ or ‘may not’ actually happen after today’s vote.

If you still have not decided there are some very useful fact check tools around, LBC radio has a very good one. In the best BBC tradition, others are available too.

Panacea has carried out a ‘straw poll’ check with nearly 200 IFAs recently and in the last 2 weeks with a dozen of firms we work with and with IFAs. 

The IFA camp was decisively 82% ‘out’.

Provider firms were pretty much united to remain from the corporate perspective. But, staff working for those firms held a concensus contra view in almost every case. 

But what of the politicians and their responsibilities post vote for the claims being made of feast, famine, plague or pestilance made to support in or out? 

A question that remains unasked of those politicians in this whole messy process is ‘what responsibility will be assumed by them if their arguments and assertions  prove, with the benefit of hindsight, to be wrong?

Will the nation have been the retrospective victim of a ‘miss-referendum’?
