Alliance Trust Investments: Sense in Sustainability – Investment managers on tour

6 October – 20 November 2014

Our Sense in Sustainability roadshows are proving to be popular and we would love to see you there to chat to you about why we find this sector so exciting. The purpose of the event is to provide you with food for thought about sustainable investing – one theme we’d like to focus on, for example, is sustainable transport.

Whether you believe in climate change or not, the main global economies have all put increasingly stringent regulations in place to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions - this isn't going away.

Transport accounted for approximately 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions in 2005 and over the next three decades the amount of cars and trucks in use is expected to grow significantly*, mainly driven by growth in emerging markets. Changes in regulation, coupled with increasing use of cars and trucks is therefore a potentially rich area for us to look for investment opportunities.
