Prudential Oracle Technical January Edition
I hope this third last edition of Oracle Technical for the year finds you well (of the tax year of course what other year matters in the planning world!) So, as we hurtle into a new tax year end, in this edition you’ll not find anything strictly tax year end related! Why?
Prudential ran their tax year end WebEx on 10 January with nearly 900 people dialling in to hear Les Cameron’s thoughts on the key things to be aware of and opportunities for advice that present themselves between now and new year’s eve -5 April (or will the 8 March budget effectively be tax year end for pension tax relief…).
So, to this edition of Oracle technical. Clare Moffat has reworked one of our more popular articles on annual allowance and lifetime allowance articles. It was getting a little out of date so she’s brought it bang up to date for you. Dealing with the public sector schemes can be fiendishly difficult so Moira has drawn up her top tips for dealing with the annual allowance. To round off our pensions content Jacqueline covers of various bits and bobs that have been getting asked on the helpline recently.
Liz has a slight different approach. She’s had a look at what’s been getting asked on the tax and trust line last year and has started off a small mini series on gifting and inheritance tax. Helen has had the misfortune of getting to read the Succession Scotland act so you don’t have to and her thoughts are here. There’s a fair amount of important things going on in the offshore world and Graeme has done a roundup of them for you.
