By registering to join the community and/or access the services available within our Panacea website and by using the Site generally, you agree to the principles set out below. Defined terms in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our General Terms and Conditions.

What personal data do we collect and why?

When you register and use the Site, we will ask you to provide certain data, such as your name, company name and contact details. We may supplement the information that you provide us with demographic information licensed from third parties in order to personalise the Services and our offers to you.

• To enable community members to personalise services provided via the Site (for example, allowing you to create and customise your own preferences, settings, information profile etc.),
• To enable us to assist Product and Service Providers in providing, improving, maintaining and operating their services,
• To enable us to conduct surveys and aggregate user profiles,
• To enable us to conduct prize draws which you have entered via the Site;
• To provide you with information on selected products and selected services that we think may be of interest to you (unless you have asked us not to do so)
• To understand and analyse the usage trends and preferences of our community to improve the Service and to develop new services, features and functionality, and
• To enable us to comply with our legal obligations under the act.

Who will it be shared with?

When Panacea was set up in 2007 it was with the intention to bridge the gap between Product Providers and Adviser Firms.  This stands true today and as such we will not share your personal information with any other third party except to our partner firms, who have a supporting relationship with the Panacea community, and only where you request it or express interest by opening and clicking any communications received from us relating to a partner firms content or communication. These partner firms may contact you where appropriate.

We may use cookies only to store information such as your User name and your session identifiers to enable us to identify whether you are registered on to the Site and, if so, to shortcut your access to the Site. We will only read cookies from your cookie file placed there through your web browser's interaction with the Site.

Security of your personal data

We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your Personal Data including the use of encryption technology, but cannot guarantee the security of any Personal Data you disclose online. You accept the inherent security implications of dealing or interacting over the internet and will not hold us responsible for any breach of security unless we have been negligent or in wilful default.

Communications between us

We may record and/or monitor any communication(s) (including telephone calls or other electronic communications) between you and us. We may do so in order to resolve queries in the future and for the purposes of ensuring security, staff training and complying with our regulatory and legal responsibilities.

In the case of communications by email you should note that as emails are not currently encrypted (and may therefore be intercepted by third parties) and as the identity of the sender cannot be confirmed you must NOT provide any of your security details by email and should avoid providing any Personal Data to us by email. We will not provide Personal Data to you be email.

Access to your information

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity – please email us at support@panaceaadviser.com if you would like to know specifically how long your data is kept for a particular purpose.

We will amend or delete any Personal Data relating to you which is found to be incorrect or not relevant in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018.
