Prudential: Summer 2016 edition of Oracle

Hello. Welcome to the Summer 2016 edition of Oracle. This quarter we focus on developing your estate planning business.

Last month, by a narrow margin, the UK voted to leave the European Union. The referendum result marks the start of a long process and there will now be a substantial period of negotiation between the government and the EU about the terms of the UK's exit.

Prudential has successfully steered its business and its customers through many times of change and uncertainty over its 168-year history. We will continue to focus our efforts on meeting the long-term savings needs of our customers.

In this edition of Oracle I’m delighted to welcome a guest contributor – Ian Muirhead,

Director at SIFA. Ian discusses the changing world of professional connections. As well as Ian’s article, Graeme Ballantyne, looks at how you can maximise the opportunities through your professional connections.

The use of trusts play a major role in estate planning and there are a number of articles in this edition that will provide support when looking to generate this type of business.

You’ll find some very useful information, including the key duties and responsibilities of a trustee and investment considerations.

Paul Fidell, Head of Business Development (Investments), writes about one of the primary challenges for those involved in estate planning – dealing with investment uncertainty.

We thank you for your continued support.
