Panacea Adviser and Glassagh Consulting launch Business Evolution Guide

London, 19 March 2015 – In the post RDR world with its aims of delivering fairer treatment for customers, according to Panacea Adviser (Panacea) and Glassagh Consulting, the financial adviser community needs to step back and review their business propositions and ask themselves have we really adapted to meet the current and future needs of our clients. If the answer is no then Panacea and Glassagh Consulting can help.

In their newly published guide; Evolution not revolution – 14 ideas to take your business forward these well respected authorities offer practical help to businesses in how to rethink their propositions to meet many of the new challenges in what is a quickly evolving and increasingly savvy society with clients now armed with an array of digital tools.

According to John Joe McGinley, head of Glassagh Consulting, succeeding now is about seeing opportunities that others do not and being so important to your clients so that as their options constantly evolve they cannot “live without you”. He likens this to a question posed to ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, who, when asked why he was so good replied “Most players skate to the puck, I skate to where the puck is going to be”. Advisers now need to identify and prepare for the opportunities of the future.

Citing this analogy he observes: “The world is a fast-changing place and standing still is simply not an option. Pricing, costs, regulation, transparency, the changes to pensions, technology and the impact of social media are all challenges that need to be addressed head-on by every adviser. Winning customers is not easy and the cost of replacing those lost large. Putting the customer at the centre of the equation and striving every day to retain them is therefore a huge business benefit. Those that thrive recognise this and are learning quickly. “

Speaking in more detail about the guide, Derek Bradley, CEO, Panacea Adviser said: “Nothing should ever be left to chance and in this guide we offer practical support in the form of a series of templates to create vision statements, action plans and the tools to then deliver them.

We share our COWS (Challenges, Opportunities, Weaknesses & Strengths) matrix that when completed will help those using it to really understand and map all aspects of their future strategies. We even help with advice about how to create a greater “share of wallet” by using better-engaged communication to build a real “community” relationship between the advisers and their customers.”

This simple plain English guide is aimed at any business who wants to develop an action plan for the future to maximise the opportunities that we all face.
