Scottish Widows: Protecting Your Family report 2014
Protecting gap widens for UK families
It’s something we don’t like to think about but our latest report shows an increasing number of UK families with young children don’t have any financial protection - should the worst happen.
Our report found that affordability is a major factor when it comes to making choices about whether to protect our families.
Our key findings:
- 24% of UK families with children under 16 don’t have any form of financial protection – a drop from 31% in 2013
- Over half of this group admit that their savings would only last a few months
- 40% of working parents rely on grandparents for childcare
To help your customers we’re continuing to develop solutions that aim to provide them and their families with a secure and prosperous future, however family life changes.
