Standard Life Investment: Learning Gateway

Our Learning Gateway (www.standardlifeinvestments.com/training) provides a wide range of online tutorials designed to help intermediaries fulfil the 21 hours per year of 'structured CPD learning' required as part of the continuing professional development (CPD) commitment required by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in a post Retail Distribution Review (RDR) world. Over 100 free training tutorials are available to intermediaries including: Equities, Fixed Income, Real Estate, Derivatives, Inflation-Linked Instruments, Risk Management, Economic & Technical Analysis, Portfolio Theory, Asset Allocation and Regulation.
                                                     
We launched the Learning Gateway tool in 2011 on the back of the marked success of the face-to-face absolute return investing and fixed income sessions we had held for the UK intermediary audience. It was an entirely natural progression for us to provide a digital learning solution at a time when our audience were never more aware of the need to get up to speed with RDR training requirements. 

Going forward, it is essential for the success of the fund management industry as a whole that intermediaries receive the right level of support from investment providers as simply put - this is also in the best interests of our clients and investors. We would like to think that - given the sheer level of interest in our Learning Gateway training tool - we are fast becoming, if indeed we are not already, one of their education partners of choice.
