FundsNetwork launches RDR guide for advised clients
- Guide provides an easy to understand explanation of the new regulations and promotes the importance of advice
- Offers an aid for advisers tackling the outcomes of the RDR with their clients
FundsNetwork™ has created ‘The Changing Face of Advice’ guide to assist advisers when explaining the impact of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) to their clients.

A survey conducted by Panacea*, suggested that 61% of advisers would welcome help in communicating the topic to their clients so FundsNetwork has created a short, client-friendly guide that can be used to place the changes affecting individual clients in the context of change to the industry as a whole.
The guide offers explanation of the key points of RDR:
- Charging for advice – the implementation of fees
- Professional qualifications – how industry standards are being raised
- Different types of advice – the difference between independent and restricted.
Klare Baldwin, Head of Marketing at FundsNetwork, comments: “We recognise that there are not too many clients who are interested in industry regulation, so it’s fallen to advisers to explain the changes because they need to have the conversations with clients about fees or service changes. With RDR preparation and difficult markets, advisers already have enough to contend with, so the guide is there as a resource, should they need it, to complement their own communications.”
