Have your say on the FOS

When it comes to listing some of the most contentious areas of regulatory impact there is little doubt that the FOS comes pretty near the top of the list for most IFAs and a surprising number of providers too.

There are genuine concerns about its "Modus Operandi", with many viewing its working practices and decisions as simply unfair, unlawful and ill considered.
Can this really be a fair perception of an organisation set up to deal with complaints from consumers in an unbiased impartial way?

The FOS has been reported recently as saying that the organisation never set out to be a consumer champion. "We have always been committed to consistency and impartiality although perhaps we are better at more regularly communicating this now".

In light of FOS award limits being increased next month and the TSC turning it's attention to the FOS as covered in our March RDR event, we felt it was time for a simple, snapshot survey to be conducted to see what IFAs actually think about the FOS.

Please follow this link to answer 10 short questions in order to have your views heard!

The results will be given to Mark Garnier MP, a member of the TSC to provide a greater insight as to whether the FOS is really seen by IFAs as either a Consumer Champion or a fair and unbiased dispute resolution service in the eyes of those who's good name and livelihood are most affected by their actions?

The survey has now closed and the results issued on the 27th April, please forward this to any IFA friends or colleagues too.
