LV= The right solution for your clients

LV= are offering Free Critical Illness (CI) cover to anyone taking out an Income Protection (IP) policy under the LV= Flexible Protection Plan over the next three months. New customers will receive Free CI cover equal to three times their monthly IP benefit, paid as a lump sum.

LV= believe that protecting regular income is at the heart of sound financial planning. However, we are concerned that some customers may be attracted by the apparently high sums on offer from critical illness plans and then believe that this will provide the protection they need if they are unable to work due to long term sickness or an accident. In many cases the real need is for a regular continuing income, rather than a lump sum payment provided by critical illness cover.

What’s more, there are conditions that are not specifically covered under critical illness policies, such as a back injury, which could leave people experiencing financial difficulty if they are unable to work because of this and don’t have the right cover in place.

This special offer aims to promote income protection and encourage more customers to protect their regular monthly income, but it also recognises that customers would also benefit from a lump sum payment to help them adjust if they had a serious illness.

Summary of the exclusive offer:

The Free Critical Illness cover is equal to 3 x the client’s monthly income protection cover at the time of claim - paid as a one off lump sum.

The offer is available to ALL applications for new Flexible Protection Plan Income Protection (full and budget) policies received from 2 February until 30 April 2009.
