Nucleus: Is your firm ready for the SM&CR?

The senior managers and certification regime (SM&CR) comes in to force for all solo-regulated firms on 9 December 2019. At Nucleus, we’re running a campaign to help our users get ready for this initiative. Whether you’re about to finalise your preparations or you still have a way to go, financial planning firms need to understand what’s required to make sure they’re ready.

To help firms prepare for SM&CR, we’ve produced a white paper with Phil Young of Zero Support. We also held SM&CR masterclasses with Cathi Harrison from Apricity at the beginning of October. The white paper aims to make sure that firms have done everything they can to be ready in time for the regulation coming into force, and to highlight further opportunities in the final months before the deadline.

Online resources available

If you’d like to receive a copy of our upcoming whitepaper, it’s available to download now from our website.

We’ve also pulled together some useful online resources to help you get ready for SM&CR and to answer any of your burning questions. Visit illuminate, where we’ve got a collection of articles about SM&CR, written by key figures in the industry.

Client Centred Advisers: Helping clients stop living in life’s waiting room

One of the most common assumptions people make is this: “I’ll be happy when…” I’ll be happy when I can retire. I’ll be happy when the mortgage is paid off. I’ll be happy when I have enough money. I’ll be happy when I can work less. I’ll be happy when I’ve achieved financial freedom. At first glance, these seem like perfectly reasonable goals. In fact, many of them are exactly the kinds of goals financial planners help clients work towards every day.
