Aviva Financial Planning Bulletin: Personal savings allowance from 6 April 2016

The nil rate band for inheritance tax is to remain frozen at £325,000 until April 2021. From 6 April 2017 an additional residence nil rate band will be introduced and its objective is to reduce the amount of inheritance tax most families will pay on the family home. The new residence nil rate band makes it important to revisit and review client’s estate destination and inheritance tax reduction plans.
