Fidelity andFundsNetwork hit the road to help advisers future proof their businesses

London, 11 April 2013: Fidelity Worldwide Investment and FundsNetwork™ have joined forces to run a series of roadshows to help advisers future proof their business models when looking at their investment propositions.

The six nationwide seminars, which take place between 22 April and 2 May, will look to address a number of issues currently faced by advisers in the new post RDR environment including the challenges presented by the move to fees and the greater need to manage costs, regulatory and business risks.

Speaking at the roadshows will be Ian Thomas, Independent Financial Planner, who will discuss the current challenges he sees facing advisers and offer strategies to address them. Ian will also examine the issues of client psychology and client segmentation, and how they influence his advice proposition.

Topics to be covered in the sessions will include:

  • Strategies to address the challenges facing advisers such as demonstrating value to clients and meeting regulator expectations as it increasingly focuses on suitability and capability.
  • Efficient and robust client risk profiling
  • Growing your business in the post RDR world: defining client propositions, service menus and profitability
  • The advantages of developing a managed investment solution and how it can help position an adviser’s business for maximum efficiency and success
  • Today’s macro environment and how it is impacting asset allocation decisions.
  • The perils and challenges of fund assessment and selection in today’s markets and how to implement a robust investment process

The events will be hosted by Russell Lancaster, Fidelity retail sales director and advisers will also be given the opportunity to hear the views of Fidelity’s Trevor Greetham and James Bateman. Providing a platform view and update will be Paul Richards, head of sales at FundsNetwork. Enhancements to FundsNetwork’s Navigator service will also be unveiled.
