Critical illness definitions to cover early forms of cancer.
Cancer is the single biggest critical illness risk we all face. Cancer Research UK estimates that one in two people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime*.
More and more people are surviving cancer than ever before primarily due to earlier detection and diagnosis, such as early screening tests that can help identify things such as abnormal cells at an early stage.
We've recently added additional cover conditions for another four early forms of cancer, so we now cover 13 additional conditions for early forms of cancer.
For a successful additional covered condition claim, we'll pay 25% of the amount of Critical Illness Cover, up to a maximum of £25,000. And if your client is later diagnosed with a more severe form of cancer, they can still make a further claim for their full sum assured under our main cancer definition.
